"Restriction isn't the question. What you do next is."
Six quick picks first, then your reading
A woman, bound and hoodwinked, with the swords of the card about her. Swords represent knowledge and eights represent cycles repeating. Together this card represents your brain/thoughts leading you to be stuck in a cycle.
You feel like you cannot get off the ride; you are stuck seeing the same patterns but unable to prevent them. Maybe your relationship needs to end, but you are too fearful of abandonment to leave. Maybe your job goes against your values, but you are too afraid of the market to even look for a new job. Your anxious thoughts do not have to keep you stuck-- you are strong enough to break patterns (even generational ones).
You are breaking free from a pattern you have long held (perhaps always denying yourself something or people pleasing)-- this process can take time. There are many quit attempts before giving up a habit. That's part of the process. Just get your eyes on the prize and keep moving towards it.

Eight of Swords for Libra in Work and Career
The Harmonizer
Swords are the air suit, so the Eight of Swords sits in Libra. That makes this Libra's own card, so nothing in it is being read from the outside, and the flattering interpretation is the one to distrust. What it asks for is the thing Libra already believes it is good at: write the sentence down and stop rewriting it. Upright, the work is available, and it is repetitive rather than dramatic.
When reading about work through a Libra lens, the Eight of Swords says that you feel like work is a place to prove you can hold everyone's needs at once, a problem to solve without anyone feeling sidelined, and something that must look effortless even when it exhausts you. This has either led to you becoming the person everyone relies on and never quite gets to rely on in return, or to you quietly building something on your own terms while everyone else thought you were still deciding. You have not asked yourself what you actually want from this work, only what you think you should want from it. The Libra blind spot in it is being the one who breaks the tie, names the problem, or asks for something first.
In practice that can look like an email that has been avoided. Whatever form it takes, it is going to take unglamorous repetition.
