Eight of Swordsfor Sagittarius
"Restriction isn't the question. What you do next is."
Six quick picks first, then your reading
A woman, bound and hoodwinked, with the swords of the card about her. Swords represent knowledge and eights represent cycles repeating. Together this card represents your brain/thoughts leading you to be stuck in a cycle.
You feel like you cannot get off the ride; you are stuck seeing the same patterns but unable to prevent them. Maybe your relationship needs to end, but you are too fearful of abandonment to leave. Maybe your job goes against your values, but you are too afraid of the market to even look for a new job. Your anxious thoughts do not have to keep you stuck-- you are strong enough to break patterns (even generational ones).
You are breaking free from a pattern you have long held (perhaps always denying yourself something or people pleasing)-- this process can take time. There are many quit attempts before giving up a habit. That's part of the process. Just get your eyes on the prize and keep moving towards it.

Eight of Swords for Sagittarius
The Seeker
Sagittarius is a Fire mutable sign ruled by Jupiter, whose natural subject is meaning, travel, belief, the long view, higher study. Swords are the air suit, so the Eight of Swords sits in Libra. Libra sextiles Sagittarius, which is help that has to be taken up rather than help that arrives. What it asks for is this: write the sentence down and stop rewriting it. Sagittarius is perfectly capable of that, which is exactly why not doing it needs a better excuse. Sagittarius is mutable: it adapts, and this card is about completion, which asks the one thing mutable signs resist, which is settling on a final form. Air and Fire feed each other, so this card's logic will feel natural here. Natural is not the same as correct. Upright, the work is available, and it is repetitive rather than dramatic.
