Cups are the water suit, so the Nine of Cups sits in Cancer. That makes this Cancer's own card, so nothing in it is being read from the outside, and the flattering interpretation is the one to distrust. What it asks for is the thing Cancer already believes it is good at: say the feeling to the person it is about. Upright, it is nearly finished, and the last stretch of it is mostly solitary.
When reading about health through a Cancer lens, the Nine of Cups says that you feel like your body holds what you will not say out loud, rest feels like abandonment (or like you are letting people down), and you know something is wrong before any test confirms it. This has either made you chronically tense and dismissive of your own pain, or taught you to listen when your gut tells you to stop.
