Two of Wands tarot card

"Planning isn't the question. What you do next is."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

A tall man looks from a battlemented roof over sea and shore; he ponders the globe and his power over it. Wands represent passion and two represents duality. Together this card represents a choice to be made: stay or go. Both options will lead to prosperity, but we have to pick one.

Upright

Your passion has led you to a crossroads. Stay doing something you love, or branch out to a new horizon. You are able to build the life you want with either route, but you cannot have both. Perhaps you are called to travel/trips or perhaps you are deciding to leave your hometown. Listen to your deep truth and do not let fear of change hold you back, but don't let the excitement of newness be your only motivation.

Reversed

You are moving quickly, following one of your passions and perhaps not listening to your true inner voice. Diving full steam into a new relationship without figuring out what broke down in your previous one; quitting a job without new plans for a new one. Slow down, listen to what your intuition is telling you-- safety is not always the enemy. Sometimes running ahead lets us avoid figuring out what we truly want.

Two of Wands for Aries in Work and Career

The Initiator

Wands are the fire suit, so the Two of Wands sits in Aries. That makes this Aries's own card, so nothing in it is being read from the outside, and the flattering interpretation is the one to distrust. What it asks for is the thing Aries already believes it is good at: spend the energy on one thing today. Upright, the second thing has actually arrived and the negotiation between them is live.

When reading about work through an Aries lens, the Two of Wands says that you feel like work is the place you prove you are not wasting time, a problem to solve fast (or escape), and something that only matters if you can see the finish line tomorrow. This has either led to building something from nothing in record time or to leaving behind half-finished things because the sprint ended and the marathon scared you. You have not asked yourself what you actually want from this work, only what you think you should want from it. The Aries blind spot in it is the feeling that nothing you do makes any difference, that you are not the center of the story.

In practice that can look like energy coming back for something. Whatever form it takes, it is becoming a two person situation.
