Ace of Cups tarot card

"New Love isn't the question. What you do next is."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

Cups represent emotions, love, and feelings. The ace of cups, as the first card in the suit, represents a new love just beginning its emotional journey. Untested, but excited!

Upright
New LoveEmotional AwakeningIntuitionCreativity

You are at the start of a new journey, some form of new love has come into your life (be it a new connection, a new pet, a new lover, or a new take on a love that's existed before). Be open to new things and see the world with rose colored glasses!

Reversed

You over focused on something new, and neglected your self. You've depleted your own emotional cup and need to spend some time filling it up again. Perhaps a new love did not go as you hoped and you must start the healing process before you begin again.

Its place in the deck.

SuitCups · Water
Cups are the suit of Water: feeling and attachment. A Cups card is always, underneath, about what you feel and who you are attached to.

The numbers tell a story inside each suit, from a seed at the Ace to the full expression at Ten. Ace is the seed: nothing has been spent yet and nothing has been tested.

Ace of Cups for Scorpio in Self and Identity

The Transformer

Cups are the water suit, so the Ace of Cups sits in Scorpio. That makes this Scorpio's own card, so nothing in it is being read from the outside, and the flattering interpretation is the one to distrust. What it asks for is the thing Scorpio already believes it is good at: say the feeling to the person it is about. An ace is a seed rather than a result. Upright it means the thing is genuinely available and completely untested.

When reading about yourself through a Scorpio lens, the Ace of Cups says that you feel like your own motives are worth interrogating endlessly, a mystery even to you (or especially to you), and something you will judge harshly before anyone else gets the chance. This has either led to you becoming very honest about what you actually want, or to you believing you do not deserve it. You have been so focused on who you think you should be that you haven't checked in with who you actually are. The Scorpio blind spot in it is the feeling of being fooled, or of being seen as naive, or of depending on someone who will leave.

In practice that can look like a feeling arriving late. Whatever form it takes, it is just arriving and has not been tested yet.
