Eight of Cups tarot card

"Walking Away isn't the question. What you do next is."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

This card is about seeing all the possibilities and not liking any of them. Sometimes you are told that the only options are the ones right in front of you, but in many situations that is not actually true. Walking away is also an option-- this card reminds us to not be limited by what we see before us and to seek out new/novel ideas

Upright
Walking AwayDisillusionmentSeeking Deeper MeaningCourage

Everything feels like it should be perfect, but deep down you are unsatisfied. Maybe you are unhappy in a relationship that on paper looks great, maybe you are miserable at a job that pays well, or maybe you come home after a hangout with your cup less full than when you left. Pay attention to these signs, they are telling you to seek out a new path. Cutting ties may be painful, but living according to your own values will feel more rewarding (and sustainable) long term

Reversed

You are denying your deep truth about a situation, you know it's not quite a perfect fit, but due to some reason (maybe trauma, maybe comfort, maybe fear of change) you are not listening to the signs that are clear in front of you. The eight of cups reversed reminds you to listen to your own truth

Eight of Cups for Capricorn in Health and Energy

The Architect

Cups are the water suit, so the Eight of Cups sits in Cancer. Cancer sits directly opposite Capricorn, so this card describes the half of the situation Capricorn habitually hands to someone else. What it wants is this: say the feeling to the person it is about. Handing that to another person is exactly the habit. Upright, the work is available, and it is repetitive rather than dramatic.

When reading about health through a Capricorn lens, the Eight of Cups says that you feel like your body is a tool for getting things done, something to ignore until it stops working, and less important than the deadline or the person depending on you. This has either taught you hard lessons that finally made you listen or left you running on fumes, surprised each time your body refuses to cooperate. The body has been sending the same signal for months and nobody has bothered to listen. The Capricorn blind spot in it is being useless, being a burden, being the person who could not hold it together.

In practice that can look like sleep coming back. Whatever form it takes, it is going to take unglamorous repetition.
