Eight of Swordsfor Scorpio · Love and Relationships

"Restriction isn't the question. What you do next is."
Six quick picks first, then your reading
A woman, bound and hoodwinked, with the swords of the card about her. Swords represent knowledge and eights represent cycles repeating. Together this card represents your brain/thoughts leading you to be stuck in a cycle.
You feel like you cannot get off the ride; you are stuck seeing the same patterns but unable to prevent them. Maybe your relationship needs to end, but you are too fearful of abandonment to leave. Maybe your job goes against your values, but you are too afraid of the market to even look for a new job. Your anxious thoughts do not have to keep you stuck-- you are strong enough to break patterns (even generational ones).
You are breaking free from a pattern you have long held (perhaps always denying yourself something or people pleasing)-- this process can take time. There are many quit attempts before giving up a habit. That's part of the process. Just get your eyes on the prize and keep moving towards it.

Eight of Swords for Scorpio in Love and Relationships
The Transformer
Swords are the air suit, so the Eight of Swords sits in Libra. Libra sits directly beside Scorpio, the one relationship a sign cannot see clearly because it is too close to get any distance on. What it asks for is this: write the sentence down and stop rewriting it. The difficulty is noticing it is being asked at all. Upright, the work is available, and it is repetitive rather than dramatic.
When reading about relationships through a Scorpio lens, the Eight of Swords says that you feel like intimacy is something you test by revealing small secrets and watching what gets repeated (or protected), a gamble where the stakes are everything, and the only way to know if someone stays. This has either led to you building something real with someone who did not flinch, or to you leaving before they could. The thing you're not saying out loud is the thing that matters most. The Scorpio blind spot in it is the feeling of being fooled, or of being seen as naive, or of depending on someone who will leave.
In practice that can look like finding something out. Whatever form it takes, it is going to take unglamorous repetition.
