"Restriction isn't the question. What you do next is."
Six quick picks first, then your reading
A woman, bound and hoodwinked, with the swords of the card about her. Swords represent knowledge and eights represent cycles repeating. Together this card represents your brain/thoughts leading you to be stuck in a cycle.
You feel like you cannot get off the ride; you are stuck seeing the same patterns but unable to prevent them. Maybe your relationship needs to end, but you are too fearful of abandonment to leave. Maybe your job goes against your values, but you are too afraid of the market to even look for a new job. Your anxious thoughts do not have to keep you stuck-- you are strong enough to break patterns (even generational ones).
You are breaking free from a pattern you have long held (perhaps always denying yourself something or people pleasing)-- this process can take time. There are many quit attempts before giving up a habit. That's part of the process. Just get your eyes on the prize and keep moving towards it.

Eight of Swords for Taurus in Love and Relationships
The Builder
Swords are the air suit, so the Eight of Swords sits in Libra. Libra and Taurus are quincunx, two signs with nothing in common: no shared element, mode, or polarity. This card will not slot neatly into how Taurus already operates. What it wants is this: write the sentence down and stop rewriting it. It has to be done deliberately or it will not happen. Upright, the work is available, and it is repetitive rather than dramatic.
When reading about relationships through a Taurus lens, the Eight of Swords says that you feel like your partner is a life you tend carefully, a person whose patterns you have memorized, and someone who should want the same future you do. This has either meant staying in something comfortable that stopped being kind, or building something so solid with someone that both of you know what the next ten years will hold. The thing you're not saying out loud is the thing that matters most. The Taurus blind spot in it is the feeling that the ground is shifting under something they thought was permanent.
In practice that can look like finding something out. Whatever form it takes, it is going to take unglamorous repetition.
