Eight of Wands tarot card

"Speed isn't the question. What you do next is."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

The card represents motion through the immovable-a flight of wands through an open country; but they draw to the term of their course. Wands represents passion and eight represents movement/cycles. Together this card represents a kind of flow state achieved by being in tune with the universe and moving with it instead of against it.

Upright
SpeedMovementSwift ActionMomentum

You are especially receptive to fate and kismet. A bunch of connected events are helping guide you towards your end goal. Perhaps you are invited to go to a woodworking class, at that class you make a new friend and that new friend introduces you to their brother (who is coincidentally the love of your life). Be open to moving quickly and saying yes to things. Follow your passions and joy and don't be afraid to let the universe take the wheel.

Reversed

Things are not flowing smoothly-- you are having a hard time finishing a task or finding the next one to start. Perhaps a trip got cancelled or a project is delayed. Don't be too frustrated, take this as a sign to slow down and enjoy the small wonders of life. Reconnect with your passions and loved ones.

One of the 56 Minor Arcana. They are about what is happening in ordinary life right now. Each belongs to one of four suits, numbered Ace to Ten, plus four court cards.
SuitWands · Fire
Wands are the suit of Fire: drive and spirit. A Wands card is always, underneath, about what you want badly enough to act on.
NumberEight
The numbers tell a story inside each suit, from a seed at the Ace to the full expression at Ten. Eight is the work: unglamorous repetition, the part nobody posts about.

Eight of Wands for Cancer in Money and Wealth

The Nurturer

Wands are the fire suit, so the Eight of Wands sits in Aries. Aries squares Cancer, so the card asks for the move Cancer is least fluent in: spend the energy on one thing today. The friction is the content, not an obstacle to it. Upright, the work is available, and it is repetitive rather than dramatic.

When reading about money through a Cancer lens, the Eight of Wands says that you feel like money is safety and security you must earn by being indispensable, spending on others proves you are not selfish, and your own comfort feels like taking from someone else. This has either made you spend on everyone but yourself and wonder where it went, or helped you understand that your security matters too. You have not looked at your full financial picture all at once, and the not-looking costs more than the looking would. The Cancer blind spot in it is being seen as a burden, or as someone whose needs are too much.

In practice that can look like a risk with money, or earning from something you actually like. Whatever form it takes, it is going to take unglamorous repetition.
