Four of Swords tarot card

"Rest isn't the question. What you do next is."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

The effigy of a knight in the attitude of prayer, at full length upon his tomb. Swords represents knowledge and the four card represents stability. Together the cards mean taking a moment to reflect and regroup after a turbulent time.

Upright
RestRecoveryContemplationRetreat

You just went through a big rupture, but are moving on. You are taking a moment with your thoughts and letting yourself rest before moving forward. The next phase of your journey will require a lot of you, so restore your energy. If you are single, now is not the time to jump into something new. Things are coming for you but you'll need to be healthy and strong to fully take advantage of them.

Reversed

You are unable to rest or move on from a big rupture. You feel like if you never stop running things won't catch up with you. Pause, listen to your body (like literally do a body scan) and pay attention to how you are feeling. Feelings help guide us and let us know how to get our needs met.

Four of Swords for Taurus in Love and Relationships

The Builder

Swords are the air suit, so the Four of Swords sits in Libra. Libra and Taurus are quincunx, two signs with nothing in common: no shared element, mode, or polarity. This card will not slot neatly into how Taurus already operates. What it wants is this: write the sentence down and stop rewriting it. It has to be done deliberately or it will not happen. Upright, the structure is holding. Holding is not the same as being right.

When reading about relationships through a Taurus lens, the Four of Swords says that you feel like your partner is a life you tend carefully, a person whose patterns you have memorized, and someone who should want the same future you do. This has either meant staying in something comfortable that stopped being kind, or building something so solid with someone that both of you know what the next ten years will hold. The thing you're not saying out loud is the thing that matters most. The Taurus blind spot in it is the feeling that the ground is shifting under something they thought was permanent.

In practice that can look like the truth arriving. Whatever form it takes, it has settled into something stable enough to hide in.
