Knight of Wands tarot card

"Passion isn't the question. What you do next is."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

A knight on an adventure, armed with a short wand. Wands represent passion and knights represent quests. Together this card represents a quest/adventure to embark on. Typically the face cards represent a person/event (or a part of yourself embodied).

Upright
PassionAdventureImpulsivenessFearlessness

You are on a quest of some kind to follow your own passion/creative energy. You are acting quickly and decisively as if a knight on a horse running across the countryside. Perhaps you are traveling and meeting new and exciting people (or going back to school again). Romantically, a figure might be entering your life and bringing you inspiration and motivation. Things maybe moving quickly (a touch of love bombing), but sometimes that is just part of the journey.

Reversed

Your plans are interrupted and perhaps you are being blocked in the pursuit of your goal (travel delays, self doubt over the goal, etc). Romantically/interpersonally you are fighting with someone important to you and it's making you doubt the relationship. Perhaps you wanted to buy a house together but now you are unsure if you even want to live in the same city. Doubt is normal, and so is fear. Listen to your inner voice to understand what to do.

Its place in the deck.

Knight of Wands for Aries in Work and Career

The Initiator

Wands are the fire suit, so the Knight of Wands sits in Aries. That makes this Aries's own card, so nothing in it is being read from the outside, and the flattering interpretation is the one to distrust. What it asks for is the thing Aries already believes it is good at: spend the energy on one thing today. Upright, this is the element at full speed with nothing slowing it down.

When reading about work through an Aries lens, the Knight of Wands says that you feel like work is the place you prove you are not wasting time, a problem to solve fast (or escape), and something that only matters if you can see the finish line tomorrow. This has either led to building something from nothing in record time or to leaving behind half-finished things because the sprint ended and the marathon scared you. You have not asked yourself what you actually want from this work, only what you think you should want from it. The Aries blind spot in it is the feeling that nothing you do makes any difference, that you are not the center of the story.

In practice that can look like a new role or project. Whatever form it takes, it arrives fast and without brakes.
