Cups are the water suit, so the Nine of Cups sits in Cancer. Cancer sits directly opposite Capricorn, so this card describes the half of the situation Capricorn habitually hands to someone else. What it wants is this: say the feeling to the person it is about. Handing that to another person is exactly the habit. Upright, it is nearly finished, and the last stretch of it is mostly solitary.
When reading about yourself through a Capricorn lens, the Nine of Cups says that you feel like you are the sum of what you have accomplished, valuable primarily when producing something others can point to, and most real when you are being useful.
