Queen of Cups tarot card

"Emotional Intelligence isn't the question. What you do next is."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

The queen represents the highest form of feminine energy, love and nurturing and protectiveness. Highly tied to the emotions and water-- she's creative and intuitive and above all loving. She's also dreamy and tied to a more psychic power.

Upright
Emotional IntelligenceCompassionNurturingIntuition

With all royal cards, the queen can be an actual person in your life who represents the highest forms of love and nurturing (romantically maybe it's a truly healthy attachment with whom you want to start a life/build a family; perhaps a bond to your own mother is strong or your mom will be a support in your next life phase). The queen can also be an embodiment of your own strong emotions (maybe you are having a baby, or parenting in some way).

Reversed

The reversed queen of cups means someone is using their control of your emotions to trick you or feed their own ego. Put a little space between you and the person in your life who uses your love of them to feel good about themselves.

Its place in the deck.

Queen of Cups for Libra in Love and Relationships

The Harmonizer

Cups are the water suit, so the Queen of Cups sits in Cancer. Cancer squares Libra, so the card asks for the move Libra is least fluent in: say the feeling to the person it is about. The friction is the content, not an obstacle to it. Upright, this is the element held internally, by someone with nothing left to prove about it.

When reading about relationships through a Libra lens, the Queen of Cups says that you feel like your person is a mirror you keep checking to make sure you are still acceptable, a scale where you measure whether you are giving exactly as much as you receive, and something that requires constant small negotiations to keep level. This has either made you a devoted partner who forgets to ask for what they need, or made you someone who can love very deeply precisely because you stopped waiting for permission to have preferences. The thing you're not saying out loud is the thing that matters most. The Libra blind spot in it is being the one who breaks the tie, names the problem, or asks for something first.

In practice that can look like heartache, or an old love resurfacing. Whatever form it takes, it is held by someone who has been through it already.
