Queen of Cups tarot card

"Emotional Intelligence isn't the question. What you do next is."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

The queen represents the highest form of feminine energy, love and nurturing and protectiveness. Highly tied to the emotions and water-- she's creative and intuitive and above all loving. She's also dreamy and tied to a more psychic power.

Upright
Emotional IntelligenceCompassionNurturingIntuition

With all royal cards, the queen can be an actual person in your life who represents the highest forms of love and nurturing (romantically maybe it's a truly healthy attachment with whom you want to start a life/build a family; perhaps a bond to your own mother is strong or your mom will be a support in your next life phase). The queen can also be an embodiment of your own strong emotions (maybe you are having a baby, or parenting in some way).

Reversed

The reversed queen of cups means someone is using their control of your emotions to trick you or feed their own ego. Put a little space between you and the person in your life who uses your love of them to feel good about themselves.

Its place in the deck.

SuitCups · Water
Cups are the suit of Water: feeling and attachment. A Cups card is always, underneath, about what you feel and who you are attached to.

Queen of Cups for Libra in Self and Identity

The Harmonizer

Cups are the water suit, so the Queen of Cups sits in Cancer. Cancer squares Libra, so the card asks for the move Libra is least fluent in: say the feeling to the person it is about. The friction is the content, not an obstacle to it. Upright, this is the element held internally, by someone with nothing left to prove about it.

When reading about yourself through a Libra lens, the Queen of Cups says that you feel like you are a collection of versions that other people have seen in you, a thing that must stay balanced or it will tip into being unlikeable, and something you do not fully trust without external confirmation. This has either kept you from knowing what you actually like, or forced you to become very clear about who you are precisely by refusing to be a mirror anymore. You have been so focused on who you think you should be that you haven't checked in with who you actually are. The Libra blind spot in it is being the one who breaks the tie, names the problem, or asks for something first.

In practice that can look like liking yourself unexpectedly. Whatever form it takes, it is held by someone who has been through it already.
