The Magician stands at a table perpetually in balance with all four elements and surrounded by nature. While peaceful and at one with their world, they are also creating magic, creating something out of nothing. Their insight acts as a conduit: they bridge the gap between yourself and the divine creative.

Some early depictions of this card showed him as a juggler balancing the many things in life. However, the magician here is perhaps invoking Merlin more than a juggler. The infinity symbol above his head has been used in mathematics since the 17th century, but the symbol is often referencing the ouroboros (a snake eating it's own tail) or the inner magical knowledge

The Initiator
Mercury against Mars-ruled Aries puts the whole thing into words, which is either the relief or the trap depending on whether Aries then acts on them. Upright, this is happening out in the visible world, where other people can see it and respond to it.
When reading about work through an Aries lens, the Magician card says that you feel like work is the place you prove you are not wasting time, a problem to solve fast (or escape), and something that only matters if you can see the finish line tomorrow. This has either led to building something from nothing in record time or to leaving behind half-finished things because the sprint ended and the marathon scared you. You have not asked yourself what you actually want from this work, only what you think you should want from it. The Aries blind spot in it is the feeling that nothing you do makes any difference, that you are not the center of the story.
In practice that can look like a change large enough to reorganise the rest, or the job becoming a different job. Whatever form it takes, it is happening in the visible world where other people can see it.
