King of Pentacles tarot card

"Wealth isn't the question. What you do next is."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

A man sits (somewhat lazily, but perhaps dignified) on a throne and surrounded by lusciousness. Pentacles represent wealth and the king card represents mastery. This card represents a person who has 'made it' financially. Someone who knows how to act in order to generate wealth. Money has a corrupting influence and you can see that with this card.

Upright
WealthBusinessLeadershipDiscipline

You are placed in a situation where you need to be the financial leader. Either at work or in your personal life. You will be successful as you have all the tools and mastery to handle the job. This card can also mean someone in your life has true domain over wealth. Romantically this card means you need a partner who brings a mastery of finances to the table.

Reversed

Someone in your life is using their wealth to hold power over you-- perhaps you are stuck in a job you dislike or perhaps you have a family member who is paying for something you need. Perhaps you are feeling a lack of generosity from others or from within yourself. Displays of wealth do not make you rich; being rich does not mean you are generous.

Its place in the deck.

SuitPentacles ยท Earth
Pentacles are the suit of Earth: matter and time. A Pentacles card is always, underneath, about the body, the money, the calendar, the actual physical situation.

The King is outward authority: wields the element in the world, at the cost of feeling it.

King of Pentacles for Taurus in The Future

The Builder

Pentacles are the earth suit, so the King of Pentacles sits in Taurus. That makes this Taurus's own card, so nothing in it is being read from the outside, and the flattering interpretation is the one to distrust. What it asks for is the thing Taurus already believes it is good at: change one concrete arrangement this week. Upright, this is the element used out in the world, at the cost of still feeling it.

When reading about what comes next through a Taurus lens, the King of Pentacles says that you feel like the future is something you control by not changing, a place you have already planned, and something that should feel familiar. This has either meant building a life so predictable it becomes a cage, or choosing what you want and moving toward it steadily enough to sleep at night. You already know what comes next, and you are afraid of what it will cost you to get there. The Taurus blind spot in it is the feeling that the ground is shifting under something they thought was permanent.

In practice that can look like a plan with an actual date on it, or somewhere to live. Whatever form it takes, it is being decided by whoever holds the authority.

Somewhere else?
