Cups are the water suit, so the Seven of Cups sits in Cancer. Cancer sits directly opposite Capricorn, so this card describes the half of the situation Capricorn habitually hands to someone else. What it wants is this: say the feeling to the person it is about. Handing that to another person is exactly the habit. Upright, the assessment is being made alone, which is where it is easiest to be wrong.
When reading about what comes next through a Capricorn lens, the Seven of Cups says that you feel like you have a plan written down somewhere (or in your head), something you are building toward that justifies the present, and measured in concrete milestones not ordinary days. This has either created a life with real forward motion and purpose or one where you reach each milestone and immediately set the next one, never actually arriving anywhere.
