The Hermit tarot card

"The answers are in the quiet you keep avoiding."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

A lonely figure holding a lantern and looking to the left stands on a mountain, walking stick in hand. He represents solitude, but also the wisdom gained from deeply knowing your inner truth. This takes time and mental energy, but leads to a kind of lightness

Upright
Inner GuidanceSoul SearchingSolitudeWisdom

You are being called to turn inward, focus on listening to yourself and become a master in your own voice. Spend time alone (maybe through an artist's date, meditation, or journaling) to connect with your inner hermit. Ponder what you value most and keep that in mind as you navigate this busy world.

Reversed

You are avoiding a part of yourself or some deep truth that you fear to admit. Perhaps you have disconnected from that part of yourself. Alternatively, you may have over indexed on solitude and need to reach out and spend time with people who align with your new found values

Major ArcanaCard 9
One of the 22 Major Arcana. They point to the large themes and turning points in a life, not the day to day. When one comes up, the reading is about something bigger than this week.
StageThe turn inward
After the Fool, the Major Arcana run in three stages of seven: the outer world (1 to 7), the turn inward (8 to 14) and the return (15 to 21). This one is in the turn inward: the point where the tools that worked outside stop working.

The Hermit for Aries in Self and Identity

The Initiator

Mercury against Mars-ruled Aries puts the whole thing into words, which is either the relief or the trap depending on whether Aries then acts on them. Upright, this has turned inward, to the place where the outer tools stop working.

When reading about yourself through an Aries lens, the Hermit card says that you feel like your body is a machine to prove something with, a problem to outrun (or overcome), and the only thing you trust because it does what you tell it to. This has either made you physically strong and brave enough to try what others won't, or left you injured and angry at your own body for not cooperating with your will. You have been so focused on who you think you should be that you haven't checked in with who you actually are. The Aries blind spot in it is the feeling that nothing you do makes any difference, that you are not the center of the story.

In practice that can look like something you cannot un-see about yourself, or a season ending. Whatever form it takes, it is turning inward, where the usual moves stop working.
