Major ArcanaCard 5
One of the 22 Major Arcana. They point to the large themes and turning points in a life, not the day to day. When one comes up, the reading is about something bigger than this week.
StageThe outer world
After the Fool, the Major Arcana run in three stages of seven: the outer world (1 to 7), the turn inward (8 to 14) and the return (15 to 21). This one is in the outer world: building a workable self out of will, learning and structure.

The Hierophant for Scorpio in Work and Career

The Transformer

Jupiter sits outside Scorpio's usual Pluto register, so this one arrives as unfamiliar weather. Upright, this is happening out in the visible world, where other people can see it and respond to it.

When reading about work through a Scorpio lens, the Hierophant card says that you feel like work is where you need to know the financial truth before anyone else does, a problem to solve (or a power to hold), and something you will not announce until you are certain. This has either led to you becoming the person who understands the money and the leverage, or to you refusing to enter the room where decisions are made. You have not asked yourself what you actually want from this work, only what you think you should want from it. The Scorpio blind spot in it is the feeling of being fooled, or of being seen as naive, or of depending on someone who will leave.

In practice that can look like a change large enough to reorganise the rest, or the job becoming a different job. Whatever form it takes, it is happening in the visible world where other people can see it.
