"Loss isn't the question. What you do next is."
Six quick picks first, then your reading
A tumultuous card-- lots of spilled cups and a lack of connection. This card signifies struggle and loss.
A major setback has occurred. Grieve for what you lost (maybe a relationship, a part of yourself, or a loved one). It's okay to be sad-- this card calls us to honor that sadness. It was a big deal and it's okay that you're hurting. Give yourself time to heal.
In a dark time, you found a path through to the light. Slowly you found yourself again and that inner strength is like a candle in the dark. You can navigate this situation.

Five of Cups for Aries in Work and Career
The Initiator
Cups are the water suit, so the Five of Cups sits in Cancer. Cancer squares Aries, so the card asks for the move Aries is least fluent in: say the feeling to the person it is about. The friction is the content, not an obstacle to it. Upright, the loss is happening rather than being feared, which is the harder and simpler thing.
When reading about work through an Aries lens, the Five of Cups says that you feel like work is the place you prove you are not wasting time, a problem to solve fast (or escape), and something that only matters if you can see the finish line tomorrow. This has either led to building something from nothing in record time or to leaving behind half-finished things because the sprint ended and the marathon scared you. You have not asked yourself what you actually want from this work, only what you think you should want from it. The Aries blind spot in it is the feeling that nothing you do makes any difference, that you are not the center of the story.
In practice that can look like a resentment that has to be said out loud. Whatever form it takes, it is breaking, and the loss in it is real.
