Emotional BalanceWisdomDiplomacyCalm Authority

Someone (or yourself) is upholding the emotional wellbeing of you and those around you. A gentle forcefulness or protective energy around your heart. Unlike the queen of cups, the king represents a more active role (instead of nurturing/healing it's more about setting boundaries and moving forward).

Reversed

A malevolent force in your life, aware of the occult and intentionally taking actions against you. Perhaps a roguish figure who has two emotional lives that do not overlap. Avoid vices and scandal or people associated with them.

King of Cups for Gemini in Work and Career

The Communicator

Cups are the water suit, so the King of Cups sits in Cancer. Cancer sits directly beside Gemini, the one relationship a sign cannot see clearly because it is too close to get any distance on. What it asks for is this: say the feeling to the person it is about. The difficulty is noticing it is being asked at all. Upright, this is the element used out in the world, at the cost of still feeling it.

When reading about work through a Gemini lens, the King of Cups says that you feel like work is the place you prove you can learn anything fast, a problem to solve before it gets boring, and something you can always trade for the next interesting angle (or stay in if the conversation keeps surprising you). This has either led to real expertise across unexpected domains or to a resume that reads like someone with too many browser tabs open and none of them fully loaded. You have not asked yourself what you actually want from this work, only what you think you should want from it. The Gemini blind spot in it is stillness, silence, the moment when talking stops and you have to feel what you actually feel, the weight of having chosen one thing and not the other.

In practice that can look like a resentment that has to be said out loud. Whatever form it takes, it is being decided by whoever holds the authority.
