"Emotional Balance isn't the question. What you do next is."
Six quick picks first, then your reading
The king represents taking action on matters of love and emotion. A masculine energy, the king represent fire and water and dominion over the emotional plain.
Someone (or yourself) is upholding the emotional wellbeing of you and those around you. A gentle forcefulness or protective energy around your heart. Unlike the queen of cups, the king represents a more active role (instead of nurturing/healing it's more about setting boundaries and moving forward).
A malevolent force in your life, aware of the occult and intentionally taking actions against you. Perhaps a roguish figure who has two emotional lives that do not overlap. Avoid vices and scandal or people associated with them.

King of Cups for Sagittarius in Work and Career
The Seeker
Cups are the water suit, so the King of Cups sits in Cancer. Cancer and Sagittarius are quincunx, two signs with nothing in common: no shared element, mode, or polarity. This card will not slot neatly into how Sagittarius already operates. What it wants is this: say the feeling to the person it is about. It has to be done deliberately or it will not happen. Upright, this is the element used out in the world, at the cost of still feeling it.
When reading about work through a Sagittarius lens, the King of Cups says that you feel like work is the place you prove you can master something fast, a stepping stone to the thing you actually want, and the point at which comfort starts to feel like a cage. This has either led you to build real expertise in one thing or to have a resume full of chapters with no book. You have not asked yourself what you actually want from this work, only what you think you should want from it. The Sagittarius blind spot in it is the specific weight of a single commitment, the slowness of actually building something, the possibility that it might not be enough.
In practice that can look like a resentment that has to be said out loud. Whatever form it takes, it is being decided by whoever holds the authority.
