King of Pentacles tarot card

"Wealth isn't the question. What you do next is."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

A man sits (somewhat lazily, but perhaps dignified) on a throne and surrounded by lusciousness. Pentacles represent wealth and the king card represents mastery. This card represents a person who has 'made it' financially. Someone who knows how to act in order to generate wealth. Money has a corrupting influence and you can see that with this card.

Upright
WealthBusinessLeadershipDiscipline

You are placed in a situation where you need to be the financial leader. Either at work or in your personal life. You will be successful as you have all the tools and mastery to handle the job. This card can also mean someone in your life has true domain over wealth. Romantically this card means you need a partner who brings a mastery of finances to the table.

Reversed

Someone in your life is using their wealth to hold power over you-- perhaps you are stuck in a job you dislike or perhaps you have a family member who is paying for something you need. Perhaps you are feeling a lack of generosity from others or from within yourself. Displays of wealth do not make you rich; being rich does not mean you are generous.

SuitPentacles · Earth
Pentacles are the suit of Earth: matter and time. A Pentacles card is always, underneath, about the body, the money, the calendar, the actual physical situation.
RankOutward authority
The King is outward authority: wields the element in the world, at the cost of feeling it.

King of Pentacles for Leo in Self and Identity

The Creator

Pentacles are the earth suit, so the King of Pentacles sits in Capricorn. Capricorn and Leo are quincunx, two signs with nothing in common: no shared element, mode, or polarity. This card will not slot neatly into how Leo already operates. What it wants is this: change one concrete arrangement this week. It has to be done deliberately or it will not happen. Upright, this is the element used out in the world, at the cost of still feeling it.

When reading about yourself through a Leo lens, the King of Pentacles says that you feel like your image is the thing you are always refining, something that could always be more impressive (or more real), and the constant distance between who you are and who you appear. This has either built genuine self-awareness through the practice of refinement, or left you exhausted from maintaining two different people. You have been so focused on who you think you should be that you haven't checked in with who you actually are. The Leo blind spot in it is being ordinary, being forgotten, being the one no one thought to invite, being seen doing something mediocre.

In practice that can look like a routine that finally sticks, or the body asking for the basics. Whatever form it takes, it is being decided by whoever holds the authority.
