Seven of Swords tarot card

"Deception isn't the question. What you do next is."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

A man in the act of carrying away five swords rapidly; the two others of the card remain stuck in the ground. Swords represent knowledge and seven represents trickery. Together this card represents a bit of a hair brained scheme.

Upright
DeceptionStrategyStealthGetting Away With Something

Be careful, a trickster is at play. Perhaps romantically someone says exactly what you want to hear, but does not mean what they say in their heart. Perhaps you are tricking yourself into doing something that you know isn't aligned with your values. Either way, be honest with yourself about what you actually want and need; don't resort to tricks to get there.

Reversed

Your plan is backfiring, you had a strategy and were executing on it, but it is just not working. You might have to be honest about your own shortcomings and see what you can do to change. People are not trying to hurt you, but your plan is not going as expected. Regroup and move forward with earnestness.

Swords are the suit of Air: mind and language. A Swords card is always, underneath, about what you think, and the story you keep retelling yourself.
NumberSeven
The numbers tell a story inside each suit, from a seed at the Ace to the full expression at Ten. Seven is the private reckoning: assessment done alone, where self-deception is easiest.

Seven of Swords for Libra in Love and Relationships

The Harmonizer

Swords are the air suit, so the Seven of Swords sits in Libra. That makes this Libra's own card, so nothing in it is being read from the outside, and the flattering interpretation is the one to distrust. What it asks for is the thing Libra already believes it is good at: write the sentence down and stop rewriting it. Upright, the assessment is being made alone, which is where it is easiest to be wrong.

When reading about relationships through a Libra lens, the Seven of Swords says that you feel like your person is a mirror you keep checking to make sure you are still acceptable, a scale where you measure whether you are giving exactly as much as you receive, and something that requires constant small negotiations to keep level. This has either made you a devoted partner who forgets to ask for what they need, or made you someone who can love very deeply precisely because you stopped waiting for permission to have preferences. The thing you're not saying out loud is the thing that matters most. The Libra blind spot in it is being the one who breaks the tie, names the problem, or asks for something first.

In practice that can look like an argument that had to happen. Whatever form it takes, it is being weighed alone, where it is easiest to lie to yourself.
