The Devilfor Capricorn · Work and Career
"You're not stuck. You just think the chains are locked."
Six quick picks first, then your reading
The devil card represents our inner demons; he's often in a fiery pit with a kind of subversion of the garden of eden where adam and eve are chained to him. The devil reminds us of our potential salvation, while trying to shackle us to our fears that we will never be worthy of it
You are in a hell, and it's partly of your own making. The situation might be dire, but you deserve better and part of you knows it. Perhaps you are ruminating, calling an ex, or doing some other unhealthy coping mechanism to help the pain you feel inside. Focus on healing your inner child and wounds instead and your problems should become more manageable.
You've done the hard work to face the parts of yourself that you might not like. You dodged a bullet and made the healthy choice even though you were tempted to fall back into old patterns

The Devil for Capricorn in Work and Career
The Architect
Saturn rules Capricorn, so this card is not describing an outside force. It is describing Capricorn to itself, which is why there is no distance in it. Upright, this is surfacing whether or not it was invited.
When reading about work through a Capricorn lens, the Devil card says that you feel like work is where you prove you are worth keeping around, a problem you solve by solving more problems, and the only place that keeps score in a way you trust. This has either led to building something real and durable that outlasts you or to becoming so necessary that leaving would feel like abandonment. You have not asked yourself what you actually want from this work, only what you think you should want from it. The Capricorn blind spot in it is being useless, being a burden, being the person who could not hold it together.
In practice that can look like a change large enough to reorganise the rest, or the job becoming a different job. Whatever form it takes, it is surfacing whether or not it was invited.
