The Devil tarot card

"You're not stuck. You just think the chains are locked."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

The devil card represents our inner demons; he's often in a fiery pit with a kind of subversion of the garden of eden where adam and eve are chained to him. The devil reminds us of our potential salvation, while trying to shackle us to our fears that we will never be worthy of it

Upright
Shadow SelfAttachmentAddictionMaterialism

You are in a hell, and it's partly of your own making. The situation might be dire, but you deserve better and part of you knows it. Perhaps you are ruminating, calling an ex, or doing some other unhealthy coping mechanism to help the pain you feel inside. Focus on healing your inner child and wounds instead and your problems should become more manageable.

Reversed

You've done the hard work to face the parts of yourself that you might not like. You dodged a bullet and made the healthy choice even though you were tempted to fall back into old patterns

One of the 22 Major Arcana. They point to the large themes and turning points in a life, not the day to day. When one comes up, the reading is about something bigger than this week.
StageThe return
After the Fool, the Major Arcana run in three stages of seven: the outer world (1 to 7), the turn inward (8 to 14) and the return (15 to 21). This one is in the return: meeting what was buried, and coming back changed rather than fixed.

The Devil for Pisces in Work and Career

The Dreamer

Saturn sits outside Pisces's usual Neptune register, so this one arrives as unfamiliar weather. Upright, this is surfacing whether or not it was invited.

When reading about work through a Pisces lens, the Devil card says that you feel like work is where you prove your value through knowing what everyone else needs before they do, a place where your own tasks blur into managing the room's emotions, and somewhere you can disappear into usefulness. This has either led to you burning out quietly while everyone else thrives on your labor, or to you becoming so essential that staying feels like the only way to matter. You have not asked yourself what you actually want from this work, only what you think you should want from it. The Pisces blind spot in it is the moment they have to stop being useful and admit they're drowning.

In practice that can look like a change large enough to reorganise the rest, or the job becoming a different job. Whatever form it takes, it is surfacing whether or not it was invited.
