A figure sits in balance between their own negative and positive thoughts. They appear in balance with the spirits and the natural highs and lows that come from life's journey. A tapestry of pomegranates behind alludes to fertility
Look closer.
The high priestess sits like an oracle at Delphi, waiting to answer questions with a lot of book knowledge and a strong intuition. Drawing this card means you must take all your knowledge and intuition to act wisely in a situation. There is a coldness to this card, a bit of the alien moon goddess. Notice that both the oracle at delphi and an alien moon goddess are not, themselves, taking actions-- this card can also mean a bit of disconnection between intuition and initiative
You are blocked from your own intuition. Perhaps you value others (or societies) opinions over your own inner voice.
This card had been a reference to the myth of a female Pope (it was originally called The Papess). Hover it was changed to be 'high priestess' based off of a theory that tarot was originally created in ancient Egypt.

The High Priestess for Cancer in Love and Relationships
The Nurturer
Moon rules Cancer, so this card is not describing an outside force. It is describing Cancer to itself, which is why there is no distance in it. Upright, this is happening out in the visible world, where other people can see it and respond to it.
When reading about relationships through a Cancer lens, the High Priestess card says that you feel like a partner is someone whose silences you learn to read, whose needs you sense before they name them, and who you fear will discover you are not actually that intuitive. This has either kept you carefully managing the relationship to prevent abandonment, or led you to find someone who does their own emotional work and meets you halfway. The thing you're not saying out loud is the thing that matters most. The Cancer blind spot in it is being seen as a burden, or as someone whose needs are too much.
In practice that can look like a turning point rather than an incident, or meeting someone who changes the shape of it. Whatever form it takes, it is happening in the visible world where other people can see it.
