The High Priestess tarot card

"You already know. Stop asking everyone else."

Six quick picks first, then your reading

On the card

A figure sits in balance between their own negative and positive thoughts. They appear in balance with the spirits and the natural highs and lows that come from life's journey. A tapestry of pomegranates behind alludes to fertility

Upright
IntuitionMysteryInner WisdomSubconscious

The high priestess sits like an oracle at Delphi, waiting to answer questions with a lot of book knowledge and a strong intuition. Drawing this card means you must take all your knowledge and intuition to act wisely in a situation. There is a coldness to this card, a bit of the alien moon goddess. Notice that both the oracle at delphi and an alien moon goddess are not, themselves, taking actions-- this card can also mean a bit of disconnection between intuition and initiative

Reversed

You are blocked from your own intuition. Perhaps you value others (or societies) opinions over your own inner voice.

Card lore

This card had been a reference to the myth of a female Pope (it was originally called The Papess). Hover it was changed to be 'high priestess' based off of a theory that tarot was originally created in ancient Egypt.

Major ArcanaCard 2
One of the 22 Major Arcana. They point to the large themes and turning points in a life, not the day to day. When one comes up, the reading is about something bigger than this week.
StageThe outer world
After the Fool, the Major Arcana run in three stages of seven: the outer world (1 to 7), the turn inward (8 to 14) and the return (15 to 21). This one is in the outer world: building a workable self out of will, learning and structure.

The High Priestess for Gemini in Love and Relationships

The Communicator

Moon is a luminary and Gemini runs on Mercury, so this card lights something up rather than fixing it. It is asking to be seen before it is solved. Upright, this is happening out in the visible world, where other people can see it and respond to it.

When reading about relationships through a Gemini lens, the High Priestess card says that you feel like a relationship is a story you are both writing together, something you can fix with the right words, and a place where your inconsistency might finally be safe (or might be exactly what breaks it). This has either created a partnership built on genuine communication and permission to change or left you explaining yourself so much that you both forgot what you actually wanted. The thing you're not saying out loud is the thing that matters most. The Gemini blind spot in it is stillness, silence, the moment when talking stops and you have to feel what you actually feel, the weight of having chosen one thing and not the other.

In practice that can look like a turning point rather than an incident, or meeting someone who changes the shape of it. Whatever form it takes, it is happening in the visible world where other people can see it.
