Some early depictions of this card showed him as a juggler balancing the many things in life. However, the magician here is perhaps invoking Merlin more than a juggler. The infinity symbol above his head has been used in mathematics since the 17th century, but the symbol is often referencing the ouroboros (a snake eating it's own tail) or the inner magical knowledge

The Nurturer
Mercury against Moon-ruled Cancer puts the whole thing into words, which is either the relief or the trap depending on whether Cancer then acts on them. Upright, this is happening out in the visible world, where other people can see it and respond to it.
When reading about health through a Cancer lens, the Magician card says that you feel like your body holds what you will not say out loud, rest feels like abandonment (or like you are letting people down), and you know something is wrong before any test confirms it. This has either made you chronically tense and dismissive of your own pain, or taught you to listen when your gut tells you to stop. The body has been sending the same signal for months and nobody has bothered to listen. The Cancer blind spot in it is being seen as a burden, or as someone whose needs are too much.
In practice that can look like the body making the decision for you, or a genuine reset. Whatever form it takes, it is happening in the visible world where other people can see it.
