The sun burns off the fog of uncertainty and reveals all (unlike the moon which merely shines through the fog). The sun card is based in the hope and joy of the present moment-- you are alive, the sun is shining, and your future awaits.
You have gone to bed one person and woken up a new person. The world around you seems different, the smells are new and the colors are brighter. You are falling in love with your life as you see it in the light of a clear day (perhaps a new love, perhaps seeing an old situation in a new light, start a new hobby that nurtures you)

The Sun for Cancer in Work and Career
The Nurturer
Sun sits outside Cancer's usual Moon register, so this one arrives as unfamiliar weather. Upright, this is surfacing whether or not it was invited.
When reading about work through a Cancer lens, the Sun card says that you feel like work is where you prove you are worth keeping around, a place where showing up matters (or where being essential protects you from being let go), and something that should eventually feel like belonging. This has either made you stay in jobs that do not pay you what you are worth, or helped you find a workplace that actually treats you like family. You have not asked yourself what you actually want from this work, only what you think you should want from it. The Cancer blind spot in it is being seen as a burden, or as someone whose needs are too much.
In practice that can look like a change large enough to reorganise the rest, or the job becoming a different job. Whatever form it takes, it is surfacing whether or not it was invited.
