"Mastery isn't the question. What you do next is."
Six quick picks first, then your reading
An artist in stone at his work, which he exhibits in the form of trophies. Pentacles represents wealth and eight represents achievement. Together this card signifies a productive period and artistry.
This card signifies that your hard work is paying off-- you've put in the time and you are proud of your creations. Spend time crafting and creating. Romantically, perhaps you will find someone who has the same creative passions and/or will collaborate on a project together.
You are working hard but getting no where. A frustrating card-- you are spinning your wheels on projects that bring you satisfaction. Follow your passions and listen to your heart. Take a break.

Eight of Pentacles for Scorpio in Work and Career
The Transformer
Pentacles are the earth suit, so the Eight of Pentacles sits in Capricorn. Capricorn sextiles Scorpio, which is help that has to be taken up rather than help that arrives. What it asks for is this: change one concrete arrangement this week. Scorpio is perfectly capable of that, which is exactly why not doing it needs a better excuse. Upright, the work is available, and it is repetitive rather than dramatic.
When reading about work through a Scorpio lens, the Eight of Pentacles says that you feel like work is where you need to know the financial truth before anyone else does, a problem to solve (or a power to hold), and something you will not announce until you are certain. This has either led to you becoming the person who understands the money and the leverage, or to you refusing to enter the room where decisions are made. You have not asked yourself what you actually want from this work, only what you think you should want from it. The Scorpio blind spot in it is the feeling of being fooled, or of being seen as naive, or of depending on someone who will leave.
In practice that can look like a contract landing. Whatever form it takes, it is going to take unglamorous repetition.
