Emotional BalanceWisdomDiplomacyCalm Authority

Someone (or yourself) is upholding the emotional wellbeing of you and those around you. A gentle forcefulness or protective energy around your heart. Unlike the queen of cups, the king represents a more active role (instead of nurturing/healing it's more about setting boundaries and moving forward).

Reversed

A malevolent force in your life, aware of the occult and intentionally taking actions against you. Perhaps a roguish figure who has two emotional lives that do not overlap. Avoid vices and scandal or people associated with them.

King of Cups for Aquarius in The Future

The Visionary

Cups are the water suit, so the King of Cups sits in Cancer. Cancer and Aquarius are quincunx, two signs with nothing in common: no shared element, mode, or polarity. This card will not slot neatly into how Aquarius already operates. What it wants is this: say the feeling to the person it is about. It has to be done deliberately or it will not happen. Upright, this is the element used out in the world, at the cost of still feeling it.

When reading about what comes next through an Aquarius lens, the King of Cups says that you feel like the future is vivid and real and twenty years out, something you can see in detail (or build in theory), and the next twenty weeks are a blur you do not know how to hold. This has either made you a visionary others follow, or left you scattered across possibilities with nothing finished. You already know what comes next, and you are afraid of what it will cost you to get there. The Aquarius blind spot in it is being ordinary, or worse, being needed in a way that pins them down.

In practice that can look like wanting something you had stopped admitting to, or a place that feels like home. Whatever form it takes, it is being decided by whoever holds the authority.
