Upright
Emotional BalanceWisdomDiplomacyCalm Authority

Someone (or yourself) is upholding the emotional wellbeing of you and those around you. A gentle forcefulness or protective energy around your heart. Unlike the queen of cups, the king represents a more active role (instead of nurturing/healing it's more about setting boundaries and moving forward).

Reversed

A malevolent force in your life, aware of the occult and intentionally taking actions against you. Perhaps a roguish figure who has two emotional lives that do not overlap. Avoid vices and scandal or people associated with them.

King of Cups for Aquarius in Self and Identity

The Visionary

Cups are the water suit, so the King of Cups sits in Cancer. Cancer and Aquarius are quincunx, two signs with nothing in common: no shared element, mode, or polarity. This card will not slot neatly into how Aquarius already operates. What it wants is this: say the feeling to the person it is about. It has to be done deliberately or it will not happen. Upright, this is the element used out in the world, at the cost of still feeling it.

When reading about yourself through an Aquarius lens, the King of Cups says that you feel like your own mind is the most reliable thing you have, a maze you navigate alone, and a machine that works better when you are not feeling too much. This has either made you brilliantly self-sufficient, or cut you off from the one thing that might actually change you. You have been so focused on who you think you should be that you haven't checked in with who you actually are. The Aquarius blind spot in it is being ordinary, or worse, being needed in a way that pins them down.

In practice that can look like liking yourself unexpectedly. Whatever form it takes, it is being decided by whoever holds the authority.
