The Hierophant for Sagittarius
The Seeker
Sagittarius is a Fire mutable sign ruled by Jupiter, whose natural subject is meaning, travel, belief, the long view, higher study. Jupiter rules Sagittarius, so this card is not describing an outside force. It is describing Sagittarius to itself, which is why there is no distance in it. Sagittarius is mutable: it adapts, and this is a card about beginning, so the start will be easy and the shape of it will keep changing. Upright, this is happening out in the visible world, where other people can see it and respond to it.
