Emotional BalanceWisdomDiplomacyCalm Authority

Someone (or yourself) is upholding the emotional wellbeing of you and those around you. A gentle forcefulness or protective energy around your heart. Unlike the queen of cups, the king represents a more active role (instead of nurturing/healing it's more about setting boundaries and moving forward).

Reversed

A malevolent force in your life, aware of the occult and intentionally taking actions against you. Perhaps a roguish figure who has two emotional lives that do not overlap. Avoid vices and scandal or people associated with them.

King of Cups for Aries in Love and Relationships

The Initiator

Cups are the water suit, so the King of Cups sits in Cancer. Cancer squares Aries, so the card asks for the move Aries is least fluent in: say the feeling to the person it is about. The friction is the content, not an obstacle to it. Upright, this is the element used out in the world, at the cost of still feeling it.

When reading about relationships through an Aries lens, the King of Cups says that you feel like your person is the spark that tells you that you are alive, the mirror you look in to check if you are still winning (or losing), and something you can set on fire and rebuild constantly. This has either created a partnership where you both move fast and break things together, or left you chasing the feeling of the first three months with person after person. The thing you're not saying out loud is the thing that matters most. The Aries blind spot in it is the feeling that nothing you do makes any difference, that you are not the center of the story.

In practice that can look like heartache, or an old love resurfacing. Whatever form it takes, it is being decided by whoever holds the authority.
