Someone (or yourself) is upholding the emotional wellbeing of you and those around you. A gentle forcefulness or protective energy around your heart. Unlike the queen of cups, the king represents a more active role (instead of nurturing/healing it's more about setting boundaries and moving forward).

Reversed

A malevolent force in your life, aware of the occult and intentionally taking actions against you. Perhaps a roguish figure who has two emotional lives that do not overlap. Avoid vices and scandal or people associated with them.

King of Cups for Aries in Self and Identity

The Initiator

Cups are the water suit, so the King of Cups sits in Cancer. Cancer squares Aries, so the card asks for the move Aries is least fluent in: say the feeling to the person it is about. The friction is the content, not an obstacle to it. Upright, this is the element used out in the world, at the cost of still feeling it.

When reading about yourself through an Aries lens, the King of Cups says that you feel like your body is a machine to prove something with, a problem to outrun (or overcome), and the only thing you trust because it does what you tell it to. This has either made you physically strong and brave enough to try what others won't, or left you injured and angry at your own body for not cooperating with your will. You have been so focused on who you think you should be that you haven't checked in with who you actually are. The Aries blind spot in it is the feeling that nothing you do makes any difference, that you are not the center of the story.

In practice that can look like liking yourself unexpectedly. Whatever form it takes, it is being decided by whoever holds the authority.
