Wands are the fire suit, so the Three of Wands sits in Aries. Aries squares Cancer, so the card asks for the move Cancer is least fluent in: spend the energy on one thing today. The friction is the content, not an obstacle to it. Upright, it has become visible to other people, which is the part that makes it real.
When reading about yourself through a Cancer lens, the Three of Wands says that you feel like you are only acceptable when you are useful, your body is something that wants too much (or needs too much), and your own feelings are something to handle in private.
